Killen, who has barbecue restaurants in Pearland, The Woodlands, and Cypress, took to social media Tuesday to announce the class that will be a hands-on tutorial on barbecue basics limited to about 100 (email bbqseminar@killens.com to register; see Killen's Facebook page for event announcement). Priced at $500 per person, the day-long class (beginning at 8 a.m. and lasting six to eight hours) will offer instruction on meat grades, meat trimming, wood selection and fire maintenance, cooking methods, barbecue equipment and smokers.
