Pearland, 4 other Brazoria County cities open filing periods for mayoral elections

The filing period for candidates is underway for municipal and school board races in the May 6 election in northern Brazoria County, including for mayoral positions in Alvin, Manvel, Brookside Village, Iowa Colony and Pearland. Candidate filing continues through 5 p.m. Feb. 17. Alvin Both the mayor and the council's District E position are open for election to three-year terms.
